How Falling Energy Prices Are Affecting the U.S. Banking Industry

Although low oil prices have often been assumed to be a good thing for the U.S. economy, recent news shows that this isn’t actually the case, particularly in the banking sector.

Several banks have reported drops in net income and revenue compared with a year earlier. Bank of America’s  first-quarter net income fell 13% from last year, and JPMorgan Chase and Wells Fargo also reported declines of more than 6%.
