Ordo launches free P2P payments service in wake of COVID-19

The firm, which counts Nationwide among its investors, has launched its Neighbour2Neighbour system, which will allow users to receive payments via a request system connected to their bank account.

Ordo has released the new platform free of charge for users in response to what it sees as the growing number of people undertaking tasks like shopping for those around them isolating in the wake of the coronavirus.

If the payer doesn’t have mobile or online banking, they will be able to pass the Ordo request from to someone else in their household or a close family member who can make the payment on their behalf, the firm says.
