Scherr is retiring after almost three decades with Goldman Sachs. He first joined the New York City-based bank as an associate in 1993, and served in a number of roles at the firm before rising to CFO in 2018. Notably, Scherr helped establish the bank’s commercial-banking arm, Marcus by Goldman Sachs. He will become a senior director upon his retirement this January.
Scherr’s retirement is the first turnover within Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon’s inner circle since Solomon was appointed in 2018, CNBC reported.
