Volatile dollar’s many woes call for neutral positioning, analyst says

A tightening Federal Reserve is supporting a firmer U.S. dollar, but fears over government policies and the sustained health of the U.S. economy are tugging on the U.S. currency.

In all this conflict, it seems best to be dollar-neutral, said a Pictet Asset Management strategist.

“Up until recently, the dollar was driven by a mix of the best of everything,” Luca Paolini, chief strategist at Pictet Asset Management, told MarketWatch Monday, citing Fed rate hikes and economic expansion.
