U.S. stocks poised to retreat Friday as 10-year Treasury resumes slide below 1.7%

U.S. stock-index futures on Friday were heading lower, highlighting a volatile week of trade, as government bonds in the U.S. and across the globe resumed a rally — pushing yields lower — that has been driven mostly by fears about the state of the global economy.

How did benchmarks perform?

Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average YMU19, -0.37% were off 165 points, or 0.6%, at 26,200, those for the S&P 500 index ESU19, -0.46% were 18.35 points, or 0.6%, lower to reach 2,921.75, while those for the Nasdaq-100 NQU19, -0.65% were down 64 points, or 0.8%, at 7,671.75.
