Headwinds from fundamental economic factors like the aging population may mean that the economy may grow more slowly than expected this year, Dallas Fed President Robert Kaplan said Friday.
In an interview on the Fox Business Network, Kaplan said he expected gross domestic product to expand at a 2% annual rate this year. But underlying factors like an aging workforce, low productivity and a lack of a skilled workforce were “headwinds” that may add more drag to the economy.
