U.S. stock futures fight to gain ground higher with earnings, Trump-Putin summit in focus

U.S. stock futures traded little changed Monday, with investors looking to a fresh round of quarterly results to help steer trading following last week’s uptrend that took equity benchmarks to their highest levels in weeks despite rising geopolitical worries.

A highly anticipated meeting between President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin and a report on retail sales also were in focus.

Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average YMU8, +0.09% edged up 10 points to 25,011, a gain of less than 0.1%, while those for the S&P 500 index ESU8, -0.01% traded little changed, down less than 1 point at 2,802.25. Futures for the Nasdaq-100 index NQU8, +0.08% added 2.00 points, a gain of less than 0.1%, to 7,395.
